11th International Yoga Day
More than 500 Divyangjans Participate in Special Yoga Camp on 11th International Yoga Day
On the occasion of the 11th International Yoga Day, more than 500 Divyangjans actively participated in a special yoga camp organized by the Pandit Deendayal Upadhyaya National Institute for Persons with Physical Disabilities (PDU-NIPPD), New Delhi. The event took place at Modern School, Barakhamba Road, and was dedicated exclusively to empowering and encouraging persons with disabilities through the practice of yoga.
Shri Rahul Agarwal, Deputy Director (Disability), Department of Social Welfare, Government of Delhi, graced the occasion as the Chief Guest. He not only addressed the participants but also joined them in performing yoga, boosting their confidence and enthusiasm.
The event witnessed the active participation of Dr. Jitendra Sharma, Director of PDU-NIPPD, along with institute staff and senior officials from the Department of Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities (DEPwD), Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment (MSJE).
The yoga session was expertly conducted under the supervision of Dr. Navdeep Joshi, noted educationist from Shri Lal Bahadur Shastri National Sanskrit University, ensuring that the postures and practices were accessible and beneficial for all participants.
This initiative highlights the commitment of the Government of India, under the leadership of Hon’ble Minister Dr. Virendra Kumar and Shri B. L. Verma, to promote inclusion, wellness, and holistic development among Divyangjans.
