Inauguration of Solar Power Plant By Sh Rajesh Aggarwal, Secretary DEPwD
A 54-kilowatt solar power plant was inaugurated today at the Pt. Deendayal Upadhyaya National Institute for Persons with Physical Disabilities, New Delhi, which operates under the Department of Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities, Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment. The inauguration was conducted by Mr. Rajesh Aggarwal, Secretary of the Department.
This solar power plant has been established at the institute with the support of Group Legrand India and represents a significant initiative towards promoting environmental conservation and renewable energy.
The event was graced by the presence of Mrs. Richa Shankar, Deputy Director General of the Department, Dr. Jitendra Sharma, Director of the Institute, and Ms. Abida Anees, Vice President of Group Legrand India.
While addressing the gathering, Secretary Mr. Rajesh Aggarwal highlighted that the installation of this solar power plant reflects a shared commitment towards protecting the environment. He noted that the plant will not only meet the institute’s energy needs but also contribute to environmental conservation and economic savings.
He appreciated the efforts of Group Legrand India and stated that such initiatives will inspire other institutions to adopt green energy solutions. The solar power plant marks a significant step towards energy self-reliance and contributes meaningfully to the Government of India’s clean energy mission.
