Multiple Sclerosis Day May 30, 2025
Participants: 150 (including Physiotherapy and Occupational Therapy students, and faculty members from all departments)
The Multiple Sclerosis Day celebration was held on May 30, 2025, at the PDUNIPPD Multipurpose Hall, drawing a vibrant audience of 150 participants comprising students from Physiotherapy (PT), Occupational Therapy (OT), and faculty members across disciplines.The program commenced with a dignified lamp lighting ceremony, officiated by the Head of the Physiotherapy Department alongside the four esteemed resource persons. As a gesture of respect and appreciation, the resource persons were felicitated with green potted plants, symbolizing growth and sustainability.
The event was formally opened with a welcome address delivered by Mr. K. Ramprabhu, Assistant Professor, Physiotherapy.
Expert Sessions
The program featured four insightful and diverse sessions:
Dr. Sanjeev Kumar (Neurosurgeon)
Delivered a comprehensive overview of Multiple Sclerosis, discussing its pathophysiology, clinical manifestations, and current management approaches.
Dr. Nonita Gangwani (Assistant Professor, UCMS and GTB Hospital)
Focused on breaking barriers, promoting accessibility and inclusion for individuals with Multiple Sclerosis, and emphasized the need to foster a supportive and inclusive environment.
Ms. Pooja Chaddha
Shared her personal journey of living with Multiple Sclerosis, providing firsthand insights into the day-to-day challenges and triumphs associated with the condition, leaving a profound impact on the audience.
Ms. Megha Masaun (Physiotherapist, Dr. RML Hospital)
Highlighted recent advances in Multiple Sclerosis management, with a special focus on the crucial role of physiotherapy in enhancing patient outcomes and quality of life.
At the conclusion of the sessions, certificates of appreciation were presented to the guest faculty in recognition of their valuable contributions.
Mrs. Sheena Arora, Demonstrator in Physiotherapy, expressed her heartfelt gratitude to the resource persons, participants, and all those whose efforts contributed to the success of the event.
