PDUNIPPD commemorated ” Down Syndrome Day 2025″ on 24th of March 2025
organized by the Department of Occupational Therapy. The program began with Ganesh
Vandana & lamp lighting followed by Welcome speech by Dr Jitendra Sharma, Director
PDUNIPPD, Solo Dance presentation by a 9-year-old girl with Down Syndrome and musical
video by a 23-year-old boy with Down Syndrome. After which there were talks by the experts
on “Prevention: Genetic aspect and Red flags of Down Syndrome” by Dr. Rajeev Seth,
MBBS, MD(Peds), Founder & Medical Director, Child Health & Development Center. Dr.
Manish Samnani, PhD in Occupational Therapy, Director, SOCH, Gurgaon shared his
experiences on the topic “How to be a Behaviour detective” and Mr. Anuj Srivastava, M. Ed.
Special Education, PhD scholar, Jamia Milia Islamia,spoke on the topic “Training in life skills
and employment compatibility of individuals with Down’s Syndrome”.
The program encompassed aspects of Down Syndrome from “Prevention to
Employability”. The informative sessions were attended by 110 students and faculty of the
Institute and was well appreciated. The program concluded with the vote of thanks by Mrs.
Madhuchhanda Mohanty, HOD (OT).
